Early warning systems are an essential tool for risk management and disaster preparedness that help save lives and minimize the potential impact of disasters. To be effective, early warning systems need to rely on the direct participation of at-risk communities, facilitate public education and awareness among at-risk communities, and disseminate warning messages in a timely manner. The aim of the study is to identify the factors influencing the accessibility and actionability of early warning messages and provide some recommendations to increase the resilience of poor and vulnerable people on the coast. The study was conducted in the Gulishakhali union under Amtali Upazila in Barguna District. The study results show that the highest number of people receive early warning messages through social media, at 34%, receive word-of-mouth messages from people by 30%, through mobile phone by 19%, receive messages through TV by 14%, and the lowest number of people receive early warning messages through community meetings by 3%. The result also shows the factors that influence the early warning systems and locally managed warning systems to increase resilience. Among the factors, communication barriers are in the first position, and lack of access to communication channels is not sufficient for the study area. Understanding the level of the messages, language barriers, and transportation barriers also influences the early warning systems. Increased awareness-raising, regular community meetings, and training programs are the recommendations for locally managed early warning systems to increase the resilience of poor and vulnerable people on the coast.</span></div> Md. This community engagement article reports an eco-enzyme intervention conducted with 38 informants from forest-adjacent farming households in Batu City, East Java. The activity aimed to strengthen community capacity in organic-waste separation, fermentation-based waste valorization, and preliminary use of eco-enzyme as liquid organic fertilizer. A mixed-methods community intervention design was used, combining participatory coordination, technical training, hands-on practice, pre-test and post-test assessment, field observation, and reflective evaluation. Participants were predominantly women and were observed as active, proactive, progressive, and cooperative during the training process. The pre-test to post-test comparison showed a 22% increase in knowledge and procedural understanding. The activity produced 42 liters of eco-enzyme and introduced its pilot application to plants, where treated plants showed 17% faster growth in preliminary observation. SMK PGRI 4 Serang City is one of the human resources providers of Motorcycle Automotive Engineering graduates. Painting is part of the motorcycle assembly industry that demands high competence from production operators. Indonesia's unpredictable weather also causes vehicle paint to fade quickly, so vehicle paint repairs need to be done through repainting. The airbrush technique that uses air pressure instead of a brush can speed up the painting process. At SMK PGRI 4 Serang City, training in painting with the airbrush technique has never been conducted. Therefore, the author provides airbrush training to improve students' creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. The training consists of theory and demonstrations accompanied by painting practice. This training is guided by two samurai education painting trainers from Samurai Paint Kirobushi. Evaluation results showed that 80–88% of participants achieved technical competency indicators, 85–87% demonstrated creativity-related competencies, and more than 80% showed entrepreneurial awareness. However, difficulties in identifying healthy friendships and managing toxic peer relationships remain common among adolescents. To address this issue, a psychoeducational program entitled “I Choose to Grow” was conducted at Pelita 2 Junior High School, Jakarta, involving 90 students in a one-day intervention from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The program was based on Goleman’s emotional intelligence theory and Erikson’s psychosocial development theory, emphasizing emotional awareness and healthy social relationships during adolescence. Psychoeducation was chosen because it helps students improve self-awareness and social skills through reflective and experiential learning. Using a participatory approach, the activities included observation, interviews with school counsellors, interactive sessions, reflective worksheets, and follow-up interviews with students. Program evaluation through reflective responses and semi-structured interviews showed that students became more able to distinguish healthy and toxic friendships, understood emotional boundaries better, and felt more confident in social interactions. The Diocese oversees various social services, including the Peduli Pendidikan (Pelikan) community. Pelikan’s primary objective is to empower high-achieving young Catholics through scholarship and mentorship programs. The scholarship management process traditionally relied on manual, paper-based workflows, leading to inefficiencies in data tracking and communication between parishes, students, and the central administration. To address these challenges, this community engagement project aimed to design and implement SI Pelikan, an integrated information system to streamline the scholarship lifecycle. The system was developed using a hybrid method, combining Waterfall and Agile system development. SI Pelikan was launched at the Parahyangan Catholic University Data Center in February 2026 and has since been accessed via the internet by its active users. Results from an evaluation involving users from 26 parishes revealed high user satisfaction. The system successfully transitioned users into a digital ecosystem by using all features provided for them. While infrastructural constraints like internet connectivity persist, the project achieved its goals by establishing a sustainable platform. The program adopted a project-based and hands-on learning approach, implemented through three stages: preparation, workshop implementation, and evaluation. The workshop was delivered in four sessions, covering fundamental IoT concepts, programming of the ESP12 (ESP8266-based) microcontroller using Arduino IDE and Node-RED, and sensor data integration with cloud platforms. Program effectiveness was evaluated using pre-test and post-test assessments as well as final project evaluation. The results demonstrate a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes, with an average increase of 8.34 points between pre-test and post-test scores, and most participants achieving maximum scores in the final project assessment. In addition to cognitive gains, students exhibited high engagement and improved problem-solving skills through the development of simple IoT prototypes. Overall, this program successfully strengthened students’ understanding of IoT concepts and provided learning modules and equipment that support the school’s capacity to implement the Merdeka Curriculum. In addition to improving students’ learning outcomes, the program provided social and educational benefits for participating students. The workshop encouraged active participation, teamwork, and greater confidence in using IoT technologies. It also increased students’ interest in STEM-related topics through direct experience in developing simple IoT applications.
