Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

Originality of the Work. The submitted manuscript/article must be original, not a result of plagiarism, and has not been previously published or currently under consideration by another journal.
Author Contributions. All individuals listed as authors have made significant contributions to the research and writing of the article and have approved the final version of the manuscript for submission to the journal.
Conflict of Interest. Any potential conflicts of interest and sources of funding related to this research have been honestly disclosed within the main body of the submitted manuscript.
Sanctions. If any violation of the above statements is discovered in the future, administrative sanctions, article retraction, and other penalties in accordance with applicable regulations under the laws of the Republic of Indonesia and the provisions of Design Spectrum may be imposed.
Manuscript Format. The submitted manuscript must be provided in both Microsoft Word (.docx) format and its corresponding PDF version.
Citation and Reference Format. References in the manuscript must follow APA Style 7th Edition, including citations for figures and tables, if applicable.
Image Quality in the Manuscript. To ensure high-quality visuals in the manuscript, all images must be included as supplementary documents with a minimum resolution of 128 dpi.
Table and Diagram Format. All tables and diagrams must be presented in the manuscript as editable tables and diagrams, not as images.
Proportion and Novelty of Reference Sources. References should primarily come from publications within the last 10 years, with a recommended ratio of 80:20 between primary sources (such as journal articles, conference proceedings, and theses) and secondary sources (such as books, websites, and grey literature).
Use of Generative AI. Authors must explicitly, openly, and responsibly declare any use of Generative AI in the creation of the manuscript.

Author Guidelines

JAMES menerima jenis naskah yang berasal dari hasil penelitian orisinal (original research article), dan telaah (literature review) terkait desain. Artikel ilmiah ditulis dengan minimal 25 referensi, dengan proporsi 80 dan 20 persen untuk pustaka primer (artikel jurnal, prosiding dan tesis) dan pustaka sekunder (buku, web, grey literature, dsb).
JAMES accepts manuscripts based on original research and literature reviews. Scientific articles must include at least 25 references, with a ratio of 80 to 20 percent for primary sources (journal articles, conference proceedings, and theses) and secondary sources (books, websites, gray literature, etc.

Ketentuan penyerahan naskah. Seluruh naskah yang diterbitkan akan melalui proses penelaahan sejawat tertutup satu arah yang dilakukan secara online dengan login sebagai pengguna terdaftar JAMES. Dengan demikian, baik penulis maupun pengelola akan melakukan seluruh proses penelaahan melalui website JAMES.
Manuscript Submission Guidelines. All published manuscripts will undergo a one-way, blind peer-review process conducted online by logging in as a registered JAMES user. Thus, both authors and editors will conduct the entire review process through the JAMES website.

Bahasa yang digunakan. JAMES menerima naskah yang ditulis dalam Bahasa Indonesia atau Bahasa Inggris, khusus untuk naskah berbahasa Indonesia, maka abstrak dituliskan dalam dua bahasa, yaitu Inggris dan Indonesia.
Language. JAMES accepts manuscripts written in Indonesian or English. Specifically for manuscripts in Indonesian, the abstract must be written in both English and Indonesian.

File template naskah. Penulis WAJIB menggunakan file template untuk menyiapkan naskahnya dengan cara salin tempel pada template penulisan yang dapat diunduh disini.
Manuscript Template. Authors MUST use the template file to prepare their manuscripts by copying and pasting into the writing template, which can be downloaded here.

Panjang naskah. Naskah terdiri dari maksimal 20 halaman, termasuk daftar referensi, dengan ukuran file tidak melebihi 10 MB.
Manuscript Length. Manuscripts must be no longer than 20 pages, including the reference list, with a file size not exceeding 10 MB.

Judul. Judul dibuat ringkas dan informatif, serta mengandung setidaknya salah satu kata kunci. Maksimal panjang judul adalah 12 kata atau 80 karakter termasuk spasi.
Title. The title should be concise and informative, and must contain at least one keyword. The maximum length of the title is 16 words or 80 characters, including spaces.

Abstrak. Abstrak adalah intisari dari artikel yang diserahkan, terdiri dari tujuan penelitian, metode, temuan, implikasi praktik, orisinalitas/kebaruan. Tidak ada referensi disitasi pada bagian ini.
Abstract. The abstract is a summary of the submitted article, consisting of the research objectives, methods, findings, practical implications, and originality/novelty. No references are cited in this section.

Kata Kunci. Kata kunci (keywords) merupakan konsep, cara pandang, teori, permasalahan, pelaku, dan atau metode yang menjadi fokus pada naskah. Kata kunci maksimum terdiri dari lima kata, diurut berdasarkan abjad, dipisahkan dengan titik koma (;).
Keywords. Keywords are concepts, perspectives, theories, issues, actors, and/or methods that are the focus of the manuscript. The maximum number of keywords is five, listed in alphabetical order and separated by semicolons (;).

Sistematika isi naskah. Isi naskah ditulis menggunakan sistematika penulisan artikel ilmiah yang sekurang-kurangnya mencakup: Pendahuluan (Introduction), Tinjauan Literatur & Hipotesis (Literature Review & Hypothesis), Metode Penelitian (Methodology), Hasil dan Pembahasan (Results and Discussion), Kesimpulan (Conclusion), dan Daftar Referensi (References).
Structure of the Manuscript. The manuscript must follow the standard structure of a scientific article, which includes at least the following sections: Introduction, Literature Review & Hypothesis, Methodology, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, and References.

Daftar referensi. JAMES menggunakan cara penulisan sumber dan sitasi APA Style edisi ke 7. Untuk tata cara lengkap dapat merujuk pada situs resmi APA Style dari American Psychological Association dapat dilihat pada template JAMES.
References. JAMES uses the 7th edition of APA Style for citing sources and references. For complete guidelines, please refer to the official APA Style website of the American Psychological Association, which can be found in the JAMES template.

Penulis yang menerbitkan di jurnal ini menyetujui ketentuan berikut. Penulis memegang hak cipta dan menyerahkan kepemilikan hak publikasi pertama atas naskah yang diterbitkan kepada Universitas Kristen Maranatha selaku penerbit JAMES, dan secara bersamaan dilisensikan dibawah lisensi internasional Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike-4.0 yang memungkinkan orang lain untuk berbagi karya dengan pengakuan atas penulisan publikasi awal di jurnal ini.

Penulis dapat mengadakan perjanjian kontrak tambahan yang terpisah untuk distribusi non-eksklusif dari karya versi terbitan jurnal (misalnya, mempostingnya ke repositori institusi atau menerbitkannya dalam buku), dengan pengakuan atas publikasi awalnya pada tahun jurnal ini.

Penulis diizinkan dan didorong untuk memposting karya mereka secara online (misalnya, di repositori institusi atau di situs web mereka) sebelum dan selama proses penyerahan, karena hal ini dapat menghasilkan pertukaran yang produktif, serta kutipan yang lebih awal dan lebih besar atas karya yang diterbitkan.
