About the Journal
JENDELA: Journal of English Discourse, Literature, and Applied Linguistics is a student-centered academic journal that provides a scholarly platform for the exploration of English language, literature, and discourse in diverse contexts. The journal welcomes original research articles, theoretical papers, and critical analyses from undergraduate and early-career researchers in the fields of:

Core Linguistics, including phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics

Applied Linguistics, including discourse analysis, critical discourse analysis (CDA), sociolinguistics, translation studies, language and identity, semiotics, and multimodality

English Language Teaching (ELT), covering language pedagogy, curriculum development, classroom discourse, and learner language

Discourse and Media Studies, including film discourse, digital communication, and multimodal textual analysis

JENDELA aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue by encouraging submissions that cross traditional boundaries between linguistics, literature, and cultural/media studies. We particularly encourage works that engage with contemporary issues through language, representation, and critical inquiry.
Submissions may include empirical research, critical essays, theoretical discussions, or qualitative case studies written in clear academic English. All submissions will undergo editorial review.
