Strategi Coping Stress pada Orang Tua Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus

Abstrak

Orang tua dengan anak berkebutuhan khusus lebih rentan terhadap tekanan psikologis, seperti kecemasan, gangguan tidur, dan frustasi. Maka dari itu penting bagi orang tua untuk mampu menuntukan strategi coping yang tepat untuk mengatasi setiap tantangan pengasuhan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi dan memberikan gambaran strategi coping yang cenderung digunakan oleh orang tua dan faktor-faktor yang dianggap menjadi pelindung bagi orang tua anak berkebutuhan khusus. Penelitian menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Partisipan penelitian ini sebanyak 3 orang tua yaitu ibu. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa partisipan menggunak strategi emotion focused coping dan problem focused coping sebagai cara utama dalam penyelesaian tantangan selama pengasuhan abk. Terdapat dua faktor pelindung, yaitu dukungan sosial dan hubungan orang tua dan anak. Penelitian ini diharapakan dapat menjadi referensi dalam penelitian selanjutnya.
