Pengaruh Budaya FoMO (Fear of Missing Out) terhadap Adaptasi Sosial pada Mahasiswa Rantau

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh budaya Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) terhadap adaptasi sosial mahasiswa rantau di Universitas Negeri Surabaya. Melalui pendekatan kuantitatif dengan uji regresi sederhana, penelitian ini melibatkan 213 mahasiswa baru S1 Psikologi yang berasal dari luar daerah sebagai sampel. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat pengaruh signifikan antara tingkat FoMO dan kemampuan adaptasi sosial mahasiswa rantau. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa meskipun FoMO berpotensi mempengaruhi kesejahteraan psikologis, ia tidak secara langsung menghambat maupun meningkatkan integrasi sosial di lingkungan baru. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan penting mengenai bagaimana budaya digital seperti FoMO mungkin tidak berperan dominan dalam memengaruhi proses adaptasi sosial individu di lingkungan baru.
