2016 :

SRJD began its first publication in printed version with ISSN : 2338-3348. The name “serat” means writing, manuscript; while “rupa” means visual matters or objects. Therefore “serat rupa” meant to present manuscripts discussing visual matters or objects. SRJD visual character is represented in the red-blue-green colors used in the identity design since the beginning of publication. The tri-color represented three main subjects: Visual Communication Design, Interior - Architecture Design, and Fashion Design. First publications used 2-column layout format.

2018 :

In the course of its journey, SRJD has moved to a digital version and started publishing online with e-ISSN:  2477-586X and domain of https://journal.maranatha.edu/index.php/srjd. To improve readability in online format, publications were converted into 1-column layout format.

2020:

SRJD was accredited by Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic Indonesia with Decree No. 85/M/KPT/2020 at the S5 level in SINTA (Science and Technology Index).

2023 :

SRJD modernized the publication cover and layout style, while keeping the visual identity characters. The new design started from Vol 7 no.1 onward.  Starting at the same time, SRJD no longer published print versions and only published online publications with e-ISSN:  2477-586X and DOI prefix: https://doi.org/10.28932/srjd

2024:

The institution that oversees SRJD has changed its name from the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design to the Faculty of Humanities and Creative Industries, Maranatha Christian University
