Review Process Policy

Each manuscript submitted to SONDE (Sound of Dentistry) will undergo the following process:

Before articles enter the peer review process, they will undergo checks for topic suitability, formatting, and similarity. The topic should align with the field of dentistry (such as dental biomaterials, conservative dentistry, prosthodontics, orthodontics, periodontics, pediatric dentistry, oral and maxillofacial surgery, oral medicine, dentomaxillofacial radiology, and dental public health), and the submitted article must follow the specified Author Template. Similarity checks will be performed using the Turnitin plagiarism detection tool, with a maximum acceptable similarity level of 20%.

Articles that pass these pre-review checks will enter a double-blind peer review system. The outcome of this review will determine whether the article is accepted, declined, or requires revisions. If revisions are required, the revised article may undergo further review.

Accepted articles will then proceed to the publication stage. Authors are encouraged to monitor the SONDE Open Journal System (OJS) for timely updates regarding their submissions from the SONDE Editor.
