EDITORIAL FOREWORD
After the wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, there have been several changes in the focus of interior design attention, including an emphasis on the importance of balancing human activities with the natural environment to ensure sustainable human health and welfare. Several articles in this issue discuss the issue of implementing a healthier environment, such as efforts to overcome crowds in public spaces, public space planning that ensures sociability in empty buildings, and the role of soundscape in forming a sense of place.
Similarly, in the field of fashion design, the emphasis on natural balance is also the background for research on the use of coffee waste as an environmentally friendly textile dye.
Meanwhile, in the field of visual communication design, issues regarding brands related to the suitability and relevance of their identity or image are analyzed from an aesthetic perspective, so that what is conveyed to the public is an appropriate representation for the audience. In the next article, the explanation of the communication design process in video media is also linked to the visual creative process, which then becomes the visual thread in a series of videos sent by viewers. A design process that involves an audience like this is known as participatory design, where the audience is invited to participate in the design process, provide input, and collaborate with designers and musicians. The main goal of this approach is to create outcomes or solutions that better suit the needs, expectations and experiences of the audience.
